Jakarta's Alila in the Sudirman Central Business District isn't afraid to be a little edgy. From the colourful, spiralling 'Orbital of Joy’ at the entrance to the electric palette of azure and pumpkin splashed about the property, the 5-star hotel is a dream for contemporary folks.
Being in the business district accords all of its modern conveniences to guests, and there's no shortage of personality in the hotel's facilities, like the 'catwalk pool' which has a runway cutting across the middle. The highlight, though, has to be Vong Kitchen and Le Burger – two dining concepts created exclusively for Alila SCBD by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and his son, Cedric. Who can say no to grilled Lombok octopus and oxtail soup, right?
