Los Altos

Galatasaray nightclub Cue İstiklal’s new upstairs neighbor Los Altos has one major advantage over the (surprisingly few) other Mexican-inspired eateries in the city: a breezy terrace (currently closed for winter). The décor bears Mayan influences but is nevertheless minimal – we find it refreshing to see a Mexican joint that doesn’t instantly make us feel like we’re at a Día de los Muertos-themed party. The cocktails at Los Altos are a must, and we recommend sharing a taco plate or tortilla chips to go with them. As far as modest Mexican fare goes, there are no disappointments: the spice is just right and the tortilla is fresh.
