Human Rights: The Haves and Have Nots
The second exhibition of the permanent collaboration of the world-renowned photography agency Magnum Photos and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), ‘Magnum in Istanbul: Human Rights-The Haves and the Have Nots’, opened to visitors on World Human Rights Day. Bringing striking photographs compiled from the agency’s archive to Istanbulites, the exhibition consists of approximately 90 photographs taken by leading international photographers in various countries around the world and referring to 30 articles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The exhibition is curated by Emin Özmen, the first Turkish photographer member of the legendary photography agency. Focusing on the approximately 80 years since the adoption of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948, the exhibition offers a new perspective on the ongoing discussions on the universality, protection and violations of human rights.
The exhibition is on view at Bulgur Palas from December 10 to June 10.
