Blok Art Space Büyük Valide Han

BLOK Art Space works with up-and-coming contemporary artists, new media artists, and curators to bring various performances, seminars, and events to fruition. In addition to its main gallery in Çukurcuma, BLOK Art Space also occupies one of the rooms in Istanbul’s largest Ottoman commercial inn, the historic Büyük Valide Han, which was built in Mahmutpaşa in the 17th century under the auspices of Kösem Valide Sultan. The room in Büyük Valide Han is used for contemporary art projects, performances, installations, research projects, seminars, and artist workshops.
