For decades, Israeli fashion has had a look and feel all of its own, partly by necessity and partly by design. Schools like Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design have produced world-renowned talents and every year, provocative and forward-thinking Israeli fashion just keeps delivering. Here are the most exciting Israeli born and bred creators bringing their vision to the fashion scene locally and abroad.

Setting the stage for emerging Israeli and international designers, Razili boutiques curate the best for fashionistas looking for original and edgy pieces.  They say that your clothing should be classic and your accessories should be trendy, and as luck would have it Razili’s namesake line, sold in the shop amongst other up and coming Israeli designers including Stella and Lori and Mirit Rodrig, is full of on-trend wallets, sunglasses and shoes.

Focusing on clothing as an extension of our surroundings Maya Negri’s clothing and shops across Israel are as slick and trendy as any fashionista would hope. Mixing patterns, proportions, and colors Maya Negri’s designs put Tel Aviv’s fashion scene on par with that of Paris and Tokyo – in fact you could mistake her hometown for one of these cosmopolitan fashion meccas. Prices can be a bit steep, but if you have the patience to wait for a sale, then believe us, you’ll strike gold.

This shop located smack in the middle of the Noga neighborhood is a great first stop on a tour of the creative quarter.  More often than not Julliett’s designer Gili is in the shop herself and can consult on the fit and feel of the clothing you try on, which ranges from sweatpants to golden silk evening dresses. The clothes are modern and clean, always with a thoughtful twist. Don’t worry about where to find the rest of your outfit either – the shop also carries jewelry brands like Israeli indie darlings Ruby Star, which perfectly complement Julliett’s minimalist and charming aesthetic.

Alembika - since 2005

Alembika is one of Israel’s most prominent women’s clothing brands with outposts around the country.  The dresses are flowing caftan-esque pieces, making them ideal for layering to play with your style. Alembika has perfected the drop waist dresses that seem to be synonymous with Tel Avivian style in luxe fabrics and vibrant colors. You’ll find that Alembika clothing feels hyper-local and international at the same time (so it comes as no surprise that the designer has made a name for herself in specialty shops abroad as well.)

Just off the famed Shenkin Street, Aviva Zilberman’s eponymous shop offers fine clothing that exude an effortlessly chic vibe that is often imitated, yet rarely accurately duplicated. From collaborations with Tel Avivian artists to plants for sale, the showroom itself is brimming with inspiration and Instagrammable moments.  Aviva’s clothing is for women who are fashion forward and easily fall into the cool girl club. She also has a new and nice offering for the male set - fit with pops of color and on-point tailoring.

This recently revived brand was first seen throughout Israel’s fields and factories from the mid 1930s onwards - ask any Israeli of a certain age, and they’ll remember wearing ATA. Today, the ATA shops in the center of Tel Aviv offer a small but mighty selection of quality pieces that are guaranteed “for life”. Mostly single color or simple patterns that have a 90s vibe, when you find something at ATA you tap into Israel’s heritage and style.

The three women behind this sophisticated line have been collecting awards for their designs since launching their brand in 2014. Delicate fabrics and elegant shapes makes a woman in a signature Tres wrap dress and trench feel as if she’s getting dressed to jet off to a chic destination or attend an elegant dinner party. Their concept shop in millennial pink, warm wood and brass is collocated with the equally stylish shoe line Vas&Crafts, and is known for hosting pop-up shops with indie jewelry brands.
