Beer kegs piled in the corner, restaurant reviews pasted half-haphazardly on the walls, and a painted mural of the customers from 1989. Though the décor isn’t exactly aesthetically “appealing,” the informal vibes it gives off are what gives Maayan Habira its unique personality. This Romanian family-run establishment does meat every which way: from starters like chopped liver, jellied calf’s foot, gefilte fish, oxtail soup, to pork spareribs, goose, and beef pastrami. They also do their name justice—which directly translates to “beer spring”—offering an impressive selection of imported beers. With live music, an open patio in the summer and cozy indoor ambiance in the winter, Maayan Habira will satisfy any carnivore’s craving.
