Although kosher food restaurants used to be scarce in Tel Aviv, it’s now enjoying something of a renaissance - new kosher hotspots seem to open up daily across the city. When you visit the particularly stroll-worthy Neve Tzedek neighborhood, you’ll find the Kosher party in full swing. Here are just some of the kosher spots to put on your must-try list.

Neve Tzedek is the New Kosher

Carmen

This new Franco-Andalusian spot has a  gorgeous outside deck, which is perfect for taking in the sun as you dine with your group. Carmen is a meat restaurant that rocks a Josper oven, known for the highest quality of meats smoked to perfection. This is a restaurant where rustic cuisine of the south of France meets Andalusia’s fiery heat. You’ll find a generous appetizer menu with dishes like liver with fresh herbs and Harissa or mains like lamb ribs or the meat Babette, made of a trio of vegetables and eggplant cream in a rich chicken and meat sauce.

This restaurant has been a home cooking love story for years, beginning in Jerusalem as a popular kosher spot to take in the whole Georgian dining experience, but later they moved to Tel Aviv. Enjoy an authentic feast  experience, with drinks, traditional customs, and an endless spread of delicacies including Chinkali ( luscious dumplings), stuffed eggplants and Khachapuri, a huge pastry filled with vegan cheese and an egg.  Upon moving to Tel Aviv, they tried a non-kosher version but after a while, they decided that kosher was the only way to go. Great for families and groups or for partying the night away.
