For the ninth consecutive year, the International Film and Culture Festival is providing us with a glimpse into the personal and professional lives of some of our world’s most fascinating cultural phenomenons.
The screenings will reveal insights into the creative processes of extraordinary artists in an incredible variety of fields. For example, one film will peak into the mind of the great video artist Bill Viola, while another will dive into author Margaret Atwood, and others will explore French actor Jean Gabin, Japanese fashion designer Yuji Yamamoto, music legends like Jacqueline de Pre and John Coltrane, and so on. Some films will investigate other intriguing corners of the art world, like urban renewal in Istanbul, unique Israeli art education programs, or a theater company that’s composed of an entire village in Italy, just to name a few. Dealing with everything from music, dance, theater, and cinema, to literature and poetry, to sculpture, car design, fashion, and architecture, there is something for everyone. (Most have English options).
A ticket includes free entrance to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, so one can combine the trip with a visit to some of the exhibitions currently on display such as Soft Worlds or And the Hand Draws on.
Along with the 50 feature Israeli and international films, EPOS will hold workshops, special performances, exhibitions, competitions, lectures, and meetings with artists from around the world.
Step into the shoes of your biggest artistic inspirations or expose yourself to an entirely new and fascinating side of our intricate art world March 14-17. For the full list of films and events, tickets (NIS 26-46), and more general information, visit http://www.filmart.co.il/categories-en/.
