Like mushrooms after the rain, local chefs are opening low cost chains of fast food at prices that won’t even get you a bite at their original restaurant. But a trend is a trend and this week, it is Chef Moshik Roth who’s opening a new and super cheap Shawarma place.

A year after he joined the Eight Group and started selling burgers for 8 shekels, Moshik Roth, the only Israeli Chef with 2 Michelin stars is opening "Shawarma Eight". The new joint offers kosher shawarma-chef dishes for the low price of… yes, 8 shekels. The menu consists of dishes based on veal or chicken shawarma, vegan soy shawarma, and a gluten-free option served on a bed of root vegetables. Side dishes like baked sweet potato or fries also cost 8 Shekels, as do a variety of parve (dairy free) desserts.
