Characterized as a festival of creation, rather than consumption, MidBurn is returning to the Negev after a year off. Midburn is the Israeli offshoot of the infamous Burning Man festival held in the U.S. It operates in much the same way; as an independent "city" constructed and run entirely by individual agents over the course of a week.

The festival prides itself on community relations where everything is free/bartered (except entrance fee) and strives to uphold values of equality and fluid identities.
