The multicultural singer will arrive in Israel for a special performance accompanied by a string quartet and a special guest - Shlomi Shaban
In a launch performance for her new album: Bleue, to be released on March 15th, Keren Ann returns to the French language after several albums in English. The album includes a surprising duet with musician David Byrne (Talking Heads), a musical icon who recorded his own great version of Keren Ann's song a few years ago.
Keren Ann's life as well as her musical endeavors are in almost constant motion. She was born in Israel and grew up in Holland and France. After her big break in France she moved to the US, and later spent a few more years back in Israel. Through all these relocations, Ann has maintained a high level of musical activity, including new albums, touring, a wide range of music for theater, dance, film, television, opera, and collaborations with a wide range of artists in an almost infinite musical spectrum - Iggy Pop, Debussy String Quartet, Avishai Cohen, Shlomi Shaban, Questlove, Francoise Hardy and many others.
Her album releases have always enjoyed a warm embrace from the public and favorable reviews in the media world. She maintains her high position in the pop world thanks to her relatable songs written without stylistic compromise. In her work, you can notice influences that balance between Serge Ginsburg and Bob Dylan, or Carol King and Leonard Cohen. Keren Ann's songs all manage to convey a feeling of melancholy and deep longing, something very personal that connects to each and every one. A unique combination of blues, classical and folk music.
