Since its establishment in 1996, DF MEN (Dorin Frankfurt’s men’s line) had provided a perfect response to men who desired stylish clothes straddling the elusive seam line between the elegant and the everyday. It was also an alternative to the standard fashion for men, typically limited to sportswear or just the plain old ordinary garb. Ten years ago, when the local textile factory that supplied most of the raw materials for Frankfurt’s men’s line had to close, there was little choice left but to stop the activity altogether.
Ten years later, and with expressive presentations, each representing the different shades of contemporary Israeli masculinity (musician Tzuf Philosoff, journalist and artistic director Shahar Atwan, and technology developer Uri Sidon), Frankfurt has new insights into how men should dress: “In this crazy world with an uncertain future, I felt that the prestigious, declarative, and sharp look of men’s clothing over the past decade has become less and less connected to everyday reality. This is a collection that does not take into account trends or seasons,” Frankfurt declares decisively, “without noise, over-fashion, or unnecessary bling.” We approve!
