Istanbul’s only institutional contemporary dance company travels the world performing their works and spreading social awareness of the performing arts as an channel for social and cultural responsibility. With their return to the Suzanna Dellal Center this August, the company is bringing with them Travelogue, a celebration of 400 years since the writings of Ottoman explorer Evliya Chelebi, recorded in a travelogue called the "Seyahatname." Murphy's multi-dimensional journey weaves together past and present – Chelebi's geographical travel memoirs and the soul-searching passages of Elif Shafak, a contemporary Turkish female writer.
