Finally, after years of passively fawning over the food truck craze from abroad, Tel Aviv is jumping on the street food band wagon. From May 9-11, the Farmers’ Market in the Tel Aviv Port will be transformed into Israel’s first ever food truck festival.
When Shir Halpern, owner of the Port’s market, initiated the project, he aimed to maintain the farmers’ market mentality by promoting partnerships with local producers.
At TLV Food Truck Fest, over the course of three evenings, more than ten trucks will offer a colorful variety of local flavors, including an Asian invasion food truck from the owner of Wok Republic, a vegan specialty truck, a pizza truck, a fish and chips truck featuring fresh fish from the market, and a bar truck offering a selection of beers, wines, and craft cocktails to wash all that greasy goodness down.
The festival will also feature live performances, DJs, and family-friendly activities. Come warm your hearts and fill your stomachs with Tel Aviv’s best eats on the streets.
