The top nightlife spots in hotels around Israel

Haiku Sky Bar

At the Lighthouse Hotel (1 Ben Yehuda St, Tel Aviv) locals will recall the lighthouse building (the Migdalor company tower), returning relevancy to the 1970s veteran structure. The hotel is a kind of display window for Tel Aviv, on the one hand, a vibrant city that attracts fun-lovers from all over the world, and on the other hand, a developing business center. But the wrap-around, stunning panoramic views from the rooftop’s 18th floor, which houses the Haiku Sky Bar, is total pleasure. Expect a rowdy night out with visitors and locals alike, enjoying drinks and allstar Japanese dishes from the yakitori restaurant helmed by Aria’s chef, Guy Gamzo.

  • Old Jaffa

Throw back signature cocktails in the stunning new and painstakingly-restored bar of the Jaffa Hotel (2 Louis Pasteur St, Jaffa), aptly named The Chapel after its days serving as the School of the Sisterhood of St. Joseph. The hotel itself was built on the remains of a 19th century French hospital, which, in its latest reincarnation, served as a nunnery. The arched ceilings, stained glass windows, and ornately-painted floors now bear witness to Jaffa’s burgeoning after hours debauchery.

  • White City

At the heart of Nachalat Binyamin’s garment and textiles district is the Fabric Hotel (28 Nachalat Binyamin St, Tel Aviv) a lively, new boutique offering, which has taken over the former site of a sewing workshop. The hotel, designed in a palette of urban hues with added denim patterned wallpapers, befits its location in the city. The in-house, ‘from coffee till cocktail’ Bushwick bar (a collaboration between the Atlas Hotel chain and the Imperial Group) is an ode to late 80s and early 90s nostalgia with drinks like Here Comes the Tiger, a smoky and wild cocktail of Vida Mexcal, Yellow Chartreuse, sorrel, and egg whites and the Nirvana with Bombay Sapphire Gin, Tilia flower, sweet Granny Smith apple sorbet and dry sherry.

Café Popular

Another of the latest resto-bar-hotel trifectas to hit Tel Aviv, Café Popular is smack in the middle of Dizengoff Street, just below the Jacob Samuel Hotel (197 Dizengoff St, Tel Aviv), offering optimal people-watching and delectable Mediterranean-meets-European fare with classy drinks to boot.

Near the Old City, Mirror Bar is in Jerusalem’s trendy boutique Mamilla Hotel (11 King Solomon St, Jerusalem). Though it’s about as upscale as it gets in the Holy City, Mirror Bar manages to play it cool. All the waiters and bartenders are down to earth but exude charm, warmth and humor, making solo visitors feel welcome. Varying 1980s music videos project off the walls and a mix of tracks from the resident DJ gives it great vibes. At the far end is a cigar lounge with a wide selection of leading international brand cigars.
