In the heart of Mahane Yehuda Market, Tahrir Bar is bringing authentic Mizrahi culture of the East to northern Jerusalem. The small spot, identifiable by its Moroccan style mosaics, is only open Thursday and Saturday nights – but those two nights a week become a celebration of Eastern culture. Spend an evening smoking hookah, listening to Sephardic piyyutim and other live performances by artists within the Mizrahi tradition, and of course sipping on Arak, local beer or traditional tea.
