Time Out says

Perhaps one of the most iconic spots in Jerusalem, in addition to the Western Wall, is the Temple Mount, where the Dome of the Rock sits. Seen as the holiest site for Judaism, and the third holiest site for Islam, Temple Mount is an important biblical site. The four walls surrounding the Temple Mount date back to the time of the second Jewish Temple, first century BCE. Built around the summit of Mount Moriah, it is where Abraham offered his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice. Today, within the Temple Mount, there are approximately 100 structures, including prayer spots, arches and fountains, from various time periods. It is recommended guests come early to ensure entrance.
