Time Out says

A landmark of Jerusalem, Dormition Abbey is a marvellous church where the Virgin Mary is said to have died. The current church and Monastery, owned by the German Benedictine Order, was constructed in 1906. It is notable for its glorious courtyard mosaic zodiac floor, a unique feature for a Christian Church, and the statue of the Virgin Mary in death, located in the crypt. The abbey’s tall tower contains a balcony and dome with a clock. The abbey also has a bookstore with maps and religious literature, as well as a cafeteria serving light refreshments.
