This August the Ruth Kanner Theater Group is using their style of theatrical language to bring the artwork of Ilit Azoulay to life. For the past three years, Azoulay–an Israeli artist known for documenting history through panoramic photo montages–has been collaborating with curators, artists, and staff of the Israel Museum to tell the story of the museum in her upcoming exhibit No Thing Dies. The Ruth Kanner Theater Group, who seeks to reimagine Jewish narratives through their art, will perform several interpretations of Azoulay’s work in a production which promises to be a complex dialogue between two artistic forces.
