Time Out says

The Be´er Sheva Performing Arts center was founded in the early 1970’s by two actresses: Margalit Stander and Naomi Blumenthal. After being founded, the center suffered a rocky start, with difficulties in finding patrons and actors to take part in productions. However, the staff believed in the performing arts center and it garnered more support throughout the years. Today, it houses two of Be´er Sheva's most prominent performing arts groups; the Be´er Sheva Symphony Orchestra and the Be´er Sheva Theater. In addition to musical and theatrical productions, the performing arts center also hosts many events and conventions.
