The World Cup final takes place this Sunday, kicking-off at 11pm. Regardless of where you’re from or who you’re supporting, the World Cup final is one of the biggest nights out when it rolls around every four years, and Hong Kong is not immune to the excitement generated. Bars and restaurants get busy, some requiring a booking or fees on the door to get in and watch the game. So you’d best be prepared. As such, here are the best places to go and watch whichever team gets crowned champion.
RECOMMENDED: If you’re looking to celebrate (or commiserate) after the final – check out our list of the city’s best bars. Or, if you’ve been bitten by the sporting bug, try one of Hong Kong’s best darts bars instead.

Best places to watch the World Cup final in Hong Kong
Not somewhere you might expect to be big on sports, but Hong Kong’s largest Mexican food chain has gone all-in for Russia 2018 and the final is no exception. Its outposts in Lan Kwai Fong, TST, Sai Ying Pun, Kennedy Town and Stanley are offering your choice of themed World Cup nachos as well as free-flow buckets of Budweiser beer and house red or white wine for $395. Throw another $100 on that and you can enjoy free-flow on draft beer instead.
Despite – tragically – not being involved in this tournament, Scotland’s only representative watering hole is still embracing the action (even if England do make it to the final). For the championship game, the cosy underground bar is taking bookings for $200 (includes one drink).
If you’re worried about going hungry as you endure the late night kick off, Ciao Chow is the place for you. The LKF venue is serving pizzas all night long throughout the World Cup final, so you can stay full while you gorge on the footie showing on the restaurant’s two 110-inch projectors and three flat-screen TVs. Ciao Chow is also offering free-flow on selected wine, beer, and champagne for $398 per person.
Always a good shout whenever there’s a big game on, Delaney’s has screens dotted all over, so you can get a good view wherever you end up sitting. As per the semi-finals, it’s $300 on the door to get in but you get three drinks coupons in exchange.
Forget Dockyard’s sweeping view of the Hong Kong skyline and fix your eyes on its TV screens this World Cup. For the final this Sunday, the venue is partnering with Carlsberg to offer free-flow beer for the entire match for just $150. There’ll be plenty of chicken wings, satay sticks and nachos too, to help keep stomachs lined.
Much like its sister establishment Cali-Mex, this agave bastion is offering your choice of World Cup nachos and free-flow buckets of Budweiser, and house red or white (which probably doesn't come in a bucket, sadly). With its strong selection of mezcal and tequila, this underground den ought to be a good option for hiding if your team loses, or letting loose if they win.
Picada was the bastion for Colombian fans throughout this World Cup. Despite them no longer being in the tournament, the football fans that descend on this fun LKF bar-resto always forge a lively atmosphere. Expect that to continue with the final as Picada offers three hours of free-flow, including standard drinks and snacks, for $350.
Just in case...
There’s no need to wallow in misery as we’ve devised some sure-fire ways to cheer yourself up if things don’t go your team’s way in this year’s World Cup.
