Taipei Story

Edward Yang’s restored classic focuses on the slow unravelling of a relationship between Chin, an enterprising property developer, and small time businessman Lung. Lung clings to a nostalgic past when he was a baseball star, while his girlfriend considers emigrating to America to start afresh. The contrast between past and future is parallel to the development of Taipei itself as the director amalgamates the drama of a city and one couple.
