Hong Kong's waterfront is getting a huge makeover this summer! To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the HKSAR establishment, the Summer · Harbour campaign features a series of art installations by local artists and designers such as Messy Desk, Chocolate Rain, Din Dong, Café de Bollo, and more, at six different harbourfronts in the city.
Visitors can venture to the Tropical Forest at the Belcher Bay Promenade; make their way to the Wild, Wild West at the Water Sports & Recreation Precinct; or check out the Hot Air Balloon Extravaganza at HarbourChill. Also, don't miss out on the Beach Party at The Connector or the Summer Fireworks Fantasy at East Coast Park District! And, if you're heading to the outskirts of town, be sure to visit the Din Dong Water Carnival at Tsuen Wan Promenade. (Click here for more details.)
There will also be various pop-up events for visitors to take part in. A harbourfront marathon will be held on June 25, where a 1:14 scale remote-controlled model bus will run from the East Coast Park Precinct to the Western Wholesale Food Market. Arrangements for the public to book and play with these remote-controlled model buses at various harbourfront locations will be available from mid-July.
Over at the former temporary bus terminus next to the Wan Chai Ferry Pier, the Kids' Driving Tour along the Harbour event will run from July 3 to September 30. The public is welcome to make a booking for their kids to experience the joy of driving in different play vehicles. Car racing activities for adults will also be offered in due course, so come back to our page for more updates.
