After a two-year hiatus, Black Sheep Restaurants is returning with its holiday-exclusive pop-up restaurant, Chalet des Alpes, from December 16 to 29 at 1/F, 22 Staunton Street. This year, the restaurant group is bringing Swiss charm to SoHo and invites guests to experience a warm, cosy retreat akin to traditional Alpine chalets.
Start your evening at the bar with festive tipples like silky eggnog or aromatic mulled wine before indulging in the Chalet’s hearty holiday menu ($688 per person). Nibble on entrées such as an assorted charcuterie board with pickles and mustard, salade de Mâche with bacon bits, and raclette served over potatoes and pickled pearl onions. For mains, the Chalet is prepared to impress with its irresistible fondue, made with gruyère and vacherin cheese, served with cubed sourdough for dunking. If you’ve still got room, be sure to enjoy a rich chocolate tart topped with chantilly cream.
For more merriment, the Chalet is set to delight with wine pairing options including Provence Rosé, Whispering Angel, and Ruinart, as well as assorted French and Swiss labels. Guests are welcome to bring their own wine and enjoy complimentary corkage. Additionally, the Chalet will be giving away nightly prizes to the dining group with the best après-ski outfits, so be sure to don your overalls, fuzzy hats, and obnoxiously large ski goggles.
