One of the many events hosted under the Le French May umbrella and co-presented by Alliance Francaise, Fear and Trembling is an incredible one-woman show led by the French artist Layla Metssitane based on the satirical novel Stupeur et tremblements written by the Belgium novelist Amélie Nothomb. The play follows the journey of Amélie Nothomb, who returns to Japan, a country she knows since she was born there, in order to work for the prestigious Yumimoto company. Through a series of comical cultural misunderstandings see Nothomb, who begins at the bottom of the corporate ladder, descend even lower. Performed in French with English subtitles
