Has the city’s lack of diverse events been bugging you? Bee-live us, we feel the same. But brace yourselves, because Bug Symphony is here to liven things up. City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK) is bringing back its award-winning musical Bug Symphony that sees the entire orchestra (and the actors) dressed up in various colourful bugs and insects, conducted by a praying mantis. Based on a story by Leanne Nicholls with music and lyrics by Nick Harvey and Scott Ligertwood, the show follows the journey of Scotty and Lulu as they travel through a magical forest and encounter hilarious characters like a cockroach on jazz saxophone and a Broadway stinger along the way. If you ever wondered what it’s like to see butterflies play the harp, honeybees on flute, beetles on drums and ladybirds on violin, this is the show to do so.
