Tuck Chong Sum Kee Bamboo Steamer Company

Nestled deep in Western Street, is one of the last remaining spots in town where bamboo steamers are still made by hand. The company has been in the business for over 60 years and is now managed by Lam Ying Hung, the fifth-generation owner. Along with bamboo steamers, the shop sells wooden mooncake presses, bamboo ladles, bamboo nets, and other bamboo products. They supply bamboo products to decades-old Cantonese eateries in the city as well as in various Chinese eateries around the world.
