After a two-decade-long hiatus, Yucca de Lac has reopened in Hong Kong at The Peak Galleria, welcoming guests to savour western-inspired Cantonese classics in one of the most popular spots in town. The restaurant first opened in Tai Po Road, Ma Liu Shui, in 1963 and has served as a backdrop for several Hong Kong films in the 60s through 70s. Their popularity paved the way for the brand to branch out overseas, opening outposts in Taiwan, Malaysia, and the US before closing in 2005. The new location offers a terrace overlooking mountain and Victoria Harbour views where guests can enjoy Yucca de Lac’s long-standing local signatures with modern Western twists, including their deep-fried marinated pigeon with Secret Spice ($168) and traditional sauteed flat rice noodle with beef tenderloin ($288).
