Israeli chef Gal Ben-Moshe, who works at one of Germany's best restaurants, Glass Berlin, is heading to Test Kitchen to cook for us Hongkongers in mid-January. The culinary maestro kicks off 2017 by cooking up some unique modern Arabic dishes for diners at the pop-up restaurant, which opened early in 2016 in a chic industrial space in Sai Ying Pun and organises regular special dinners, between January 12 and 15.
Ben-Moshe has enjoyed stints at legendary kitchens including the three Michelin-starred Alinea in Chicago and Jason Atherton's Maze in London. He has been hitting the headlines with his stellar dishes at Glass Berlin of late due to his contemporary creative offerings while also tapping into what he calls 'a historically neglected kitchen', namely thousands of years of Eastern Arabic cooking from Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.
The chef knocks up a 10-course tasting menu at Test Kitchen. Seating times are 7pm and 8.15pm, and the price is $1,280 a head, which includes wine pairings. Test Kitchen is at 158A Connaught Road West and tickets can be ordered at testkitchen.com.hk/glass.
