This local café is famed for its kickass beef brisket. Chunks of meat are slowly simmered in a formula of spices until they turn soft and chopstick tender. But what truly sets Sister Wah apart from all the other brisket joints in town is its stellar beef broth. The clean, clear soup is sweetened with a natural beefy essence and tastes free of any MSG. The broth can be enjoyed with a plain order of beef brisket and a handful of chopped scallions, but it’s more common to slurp the soup down with flat rice noodles or vermicelli and an extra side of daikon. Aside from brisket, Sister Wah also offers various cuts of offal, including cow’s stomach and tendons.
