Martell, one of the world’s big cognac houses, is collaborating with three Michelin-star Forum Restaurant, known for serving exquisite Cantonese dishes, to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. For the whole month of September, taste a limited-time eight-course pairing menu ($2380 per person; +580/three glasses of Martell) highlighting three Martell expressions – Martell Noblige, Martell Cordon Bleu, and Martell XO. Cognac with Chinese food? Yes! Martell’s exceptionally smooth cognac is inherently built for flavourful culinary pairings. Unforgettable pairings include a spoonful of Martell Noblige on double-boiled Buddha Jumps soup – this might jumpstart your new obsession of adding cognac to your savoury soups; Forum’s legendary braised Ah Yat Abalone with goose web paired with Martell Cordon Bleu; and braised duck with taro that goes well with the robust notes of Martell XO.
For Mid-Autumn gift sets, the partnership is also offering a bespoke mooncake set with Noblige-flavoured mooncakes and lotus with salted egg yolk variant created by Hong Kong-based baker MoonYuet. The pack also includes a fun deck of Chinese Riddle playing cards. During the festive season, Martell is also releasing a limited edition Martell Noblige ($728) designed by artist Jacky Tsai which is available in supermarkets, wine stores, and dealer shops in Hong Kong. For purchases of $3000 on the Martell collection, get a chance to take home a Martell Mid-Autumn Festival gift set with Forum traditional XO sauce infused with Martell cognac. Only 400 sets will be released, so make sure to grab it while it lasts.
