This Italian-inspired Japanese restaurant brings the art of yoshoku (or Japanese Western food) and in particular itameshi, which refers to Italian cuisine, to Hong Kong. If you’ve ever had Italian food in Japan, you’ll know that it is indeed its own beast with familiar ingredients including spaghetti, tagliata, and fritto misto enhanced by the addition of matcha, teriyaki sauce, sake, and soy sauce for that umami-filled Japanese kick. Highlights from the Tokyo bar and grill include watermelon burrata ($142) with matcha sea salt, tsukemen soba alla carbonara ($152), Hokkaido scallops with Japanese crab roe mushroom risotto ($210), and more.
