The G Room Bar & Lounge has opened its doors in K11 Musea to offer a unique experience that blends Western-Asian tapas with music, art and technology. The menu, with its Mediterranean-style dishes that enjoy a Southeast Asian twist, focuses a lot on fresh seafood. Think whole lobster paella ($598) made with Asian-style fried rice and Iberico ham, seafood platter ($298) with deep-fried prawns, mackerel and calamari with deep-fried zucchini, Thai fish cakes, Spanish ham and potato croquettes, and abalone shisho sea urchin pasta ($318).
G Room bar’s signatures include a fruity sangria jar ($428) as well as The Wasagin ($148) which is inspired by the classic gin-based Southside cocktail but uses persimmon liqueur with a hint of wasabi for a kick, and the Jamón Rock ($158) with Serrano ham fat wash bourbon whiskey and crispy Iberico ham for extra smokiness. Enjoy a six-course lunch menu ($268 per person) with the option for white or red Sangria (additional $38 per glass), or opt for an afternoon tea set ($398 per person) for sweet and savoury delights.
The art and technology come from wrap around ultra-high-definition screens displaying visuals that help you escape reality. Be it a peaceful forest scene, gently swaying flowers, marine life swimming slowly towards you or even the Hong Kong skyline paired with lively music.
