What do you get when you cross modern Asian-influenced French cuisine with over 800 seasonally driven wine labels from around the world? The answer is Bacchus, god of the grape harvest, but also a new wine-focused restaurant in Hong Kong. Located in the heart of Central on Hollywood Road, Bacchus is a refined yet relaxed restaurant with an alfresco wine garden terrace (opening date TBC) offering a wide-ranging wine list with the most affordable wine on the list going for $320. As for the food, you’ll find distinctly French cuisine with an Asian flair. Think Japanese sea urchin and Black Angus beef rolls ($238), signature Alain Senderens’ (one of the founders of Nouvelle Cuisine) Apicius Duck Magret “Revisited” ($688), and poached Macao Dover sole filets in creamy sake sauce ($488).
