Fifteen years after the loss of the great Hong Kong actor and singer Leslie Cheung, fans worldwide are still grieving over his passing. In memory of Cheung, who was born on this day, 62 years ago, his fans have put together a photo exhibition at Running Horse Lantern, showcasing rare vintage photographs of the late star.
The images are by renowned photographer Zhou Yanming and were restored by the Leslie Cheung Artist Studies organisation. Among the many photos on display are images of the pop-culture icon at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as on the set of the 1996 film Temptress Moon, in which he starred opposite Gong Li. The exhibition also features personal keepsakes from fans’ collections, including photographs, albums and notes with Cheung’s autograph.
The exhibition is open to the public for free and runs from now until Monday, September 17. By Alice Huang
