Now that the geopolitical summits are all out of the way, we can finally start talking about the one thing that really matters: football. After months of build-up, the 2018 Fifa World Cup kicks off tonight at 10pm. After the opening ceremony, the first match, Russia vs Saudi Arabia, gets under way at 11pm. Heading out to the pub to watch is always a risky option if you’ve got work tomorrow but if you’re game, we suggest you head to one of these great venues.
If you fancy staying in and watching the games, Viu TV (channel 99) will be showing a select 19 games – including the opening one and the final – while the whole tournament will be broadcast on Now TV’s dedicated World Cup 2018 channels (channels 618 and 619).
