Since opening its doors in April, Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts has been earning praise the world over – including being selected as one of the World’s Greatest Places this year in Time magazine – for its exceptional conservation work and innovative programme of art and cultural exhibitions.
The former prison turned arts complex can now add another accolade to its name as Time Out has ranked Tai Kwun on its 50 best things to do in the world right now list. With the onslaught of exciting new restaurants and bars opening there – from Instagrammable concept bars like Dragonfly and Behind Bars to repurposed eateries like Old Bailey and The Chinese Library – as well as the arts side of things, we feel Tai Kwun deserves to be ranked a little higher than #45. But hey, as they say, we’re just honoured to be included.
What do you think? Should Tai Kwun be higher on the list or is there another Hong Kong experience that deserves a place instead?
