The city’s biggest sporting event is back! More than just a rugby tournament, Hong Kong Sevens is a full-blown party filled with intense rugby action, a killer music lineup, and pure chaos in the best way possible (we’re low-key hoping for the return of the streaker in a triumphant, bare-all run across the pitch). Whether you’ve been a permanent fixture since year one or just a one-day fan, read on for our lowdown on this year’s Hong Kong Sevens.

When is the Hong Kong Sevens?

Mark your calendars for March 28 to 30, 2025. It’s the last weekend of March, meaning you can fully commit to the three-day madness.

Where is the Hong Kong Sevens taking place?

Bidding farewell to the Hong Kong Stadium, its home for the past 30 years, this year’s Hong Kong Sevens will be held at Kai Tak Stadium for the first time. With fans coming in from all over the world, the stadium can hold up to 50,000 spectators. Its retractable roof also means folks can enjoy the games no matter the weather conditions.

What is this year’s music lineup at Hong Kong Sevens?

This year, the Hong Kong Sevens is turning up the volume with an incredible lineup of music acts. Local Cantopop legends RubberBand will kick things off on the first day (March 28), while renowned English DJ Pete Tong will take the stage on March 29 alongside Italian artist Gala, the voice behind the iconic sporting anthem Freed from Desire. Then, on the last day of the tournament (March 30), British indie rock band Kaiser Chefs will be shaking up the stadium with epic anthems like I Predict a Riot, Everyday I Love You Less and Less, and… *clears throat* “Ruby, ruby, ruby! Ahhhhhh~”

A total of 30 teams will be battling it out on the field over 72 games for the 2025 event, including teams from New Zealand, Argentina, Fiji, Great Britain, Kenya, Spain, South Africa, USA, China, Japan, and more.

How do I get tickets to the Hong Kong Sevens?
