After months of beefing up our anticipation, Shake Shack has finally announced the location of its first Hong Kong store. The cult-favourite, east-coast burger joint will take over Red’s former digs on the IFC rooftop.

This Central location is the first of 14 planned branches in Hong Kong and Macau, all of which will be co-managed by Maxim’s Caterers Ltd. This is not the first time Maxim’s has brought a big international brand to our shores; the F&B titan is the reason we have Starbucks, Ippudo ramen and, more recently, The Cheesecake Factory.

We're still waiting for full details on the menu, but expect all the house favourites, including the legendary Shack Stack burger (100% angus beef patty topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and muenster-filled portobello ’shroom) and cheese fries. In the meantime, check out the Shake Shack story below to see its rise from humble food cart to global fast-food royalty.
