Hong Kong’s top 10 places to get it on

With Valentine’s just around the corner, it’s time to start considering our city’s steamiest spots.

1. Peak Gardens
The Peak is one of Hong Kong’s top tourist havens but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to find a quiet spot for a bit of slap and tickle. Take the Peak Gardens, for example. Not only is it green and romantic, there’re plenty of bushes to get busy in.

2. The toilets at Ozone
Bars, more often than not, are the first port of call when it comes to getting laid, and Hong Kong’s highest bar at the top of the ICC comes with added benefits. Not only is the Ritz-Carlton bar swanky, if you get jiggy in Ozone’s toilets, it’s probably the closest you can get to the mile high club in Hong Kong without boarding a flight. Discuss your cock tales over cocktails and clink a cheeky cheers to that.

3. Lamma Power Station Beach
Arguably one of the most picturesque beaches Hong Kong has to offer (if looming power station chimneys belching smog into the air gets you going), Lamma Power Station Beach is our top pick for sun, sea, sand and sex. What with all the rubbish washing ashore, you might even find a condom floating about. Bonus!

4. Ngong Ping 360
The Ngong Ping cable car is an experience in itself but the 360 version, complete with a glass bottom, offers 360-degree views as you climb through the mountains to meet the Big Buddha. If you’re fortunate enough to find yourself and your object of desire alone, you’ve got 10 minutes to put ass to the glass and get rocking. Just make sure you’re modest again before you front up to the big man himself.

5. A rooftop
Hong Kong is a vertical city and with all the tall buildings come some awesome rooftops. Getting down and dirty on a roof may be for the exhibitionists among us, but a good seeing to with a view to boot is never a bad thing. Unless you’re caught. We all know Hong Kong loves a viral video. Anyone remember that guy sorting himself out on a roof? Yeah...

6. Central Pier
During the day, the piers are all hustle and bustle. Boats come in and out of the wet passage. But sneak down there for some how’s-your-father at the crack of dawn (or end of the night, depending on which way you’re going about it) and you’ll be treated to a sunrise over the harbour and a rather romantic hook-up backdrop.

7. Inspiration Lake
Who said Disney was just for kids? The Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre adjacent to Disneyland has plenty of nookie nooks and copulation crannies in its big, hard, woody park. You can even take a pedal boat out to escape picnicking families and park up next to that huge, gushing fountain.

8. Hopewell Centre’s glass lifts
The Hopewell Centre’s glass lifts are probably one of the best vertical journeys in Hong Kong, offering great views of the harbour and Wan Chai. Grab your sexual partner in crime, pin them up against the glass and enjoy the view. Going up or going down?

9. In the back of a taxi
Sometimes, the taxi ride back from Lan Kwai Fong or Knutsford Terrace (or more likely Lockhart Road at this rate) is excruciatingly long when you’re desperate to get into bed. A cheeky backseat hand job should do the trick. Chances are your driver is playing Pokémon Go, with his eyes occasionally on the road, so he won’t even notice the two jerks in the back.

10. 10,000 Buddhas Monastery
Another one for the exhibitionists. The 10,000 Buddhas Monastery is home to a plethora of gold statues, each with their own voyeuristic expression. Pick the right spot to get down to it and you might have a gleeful Buddha grinning with approval. Pick the wrong spot and you’ll be met with steely disapproval. Or just head to the turtle pond. At least they’re not judgemental.
