As our city becomes awash with festive displays at seemingly every turn, our dining scene also has a lot to flaunt, thanks to the announcement of the 2020 Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau. The 12th edition of the gastro guide was revealed at the City of Dreams, Macau this afternoon at an event honouring the biggest talents in the restaurant industry.

It's been another great year for French cuisine in Hong Kong, with new one-star additions including Louise, Petrus, Rùn, L'Envol and Gaddi's. There's also been a small influx of Japanese cuisine, with Ryota Kappou Modern and Zest by Konishi flying the flag for the ways of washoku this year. In contrast to past years, there were no newcomers in Hong Kong taking two or three stars, and those categories remained largely the same as they stood last year. In the two star category, Nicolas Boutin's brainchild Arbor replaced Hong Kong stalwart Yan Toh Heen, whilst in the very top tier Bo Innovation traded places with previously two-starred abalone experts Forum. That man, Simon Rogan will be happy also, as his second Hong Kong venture Roganic snagged a star to round off a very successful opening year.

Macau didn't change much, with the most notable adjustment to the exalted list coming in the way of newcomers Sichuan Moon, who stormed in to snag two stars.
