1. Noir
Beat the crowds by dining at Noir, a cosy bistro tucked away in Causeway Bay’s Eslite bookstore. This sleek restaurant has a dark minimalist vibe while still being inviting and warm, making this a great place to gather with friends or savour a solo meal while diving into a good book. Expect an exciting mix of Chinese, Japanese, and French influences in their dishes, such as duck confit with crunchy bitter melon, pumpkin ebi miso, and homemade cheesecake. If you want to whet your whistle, Noir also offers various spirits, classic cocktails, craft beers, and mocktails, so you’re bound to find something you’ll like.

2. Yaowarat
Experience the vibrant flavours of Thailand at Yaowarat, a lively Thai eatery on Hollywood Road. Named after the bustling street that stretches across Bangkok’s Chinatown, this new restaurant dishes up plenty of Thai classics. Get started with sumptuous starters like char-grilled beef skewers with tangy tamarind sauce, crispy whole prawn cakes, or juicy hat yai fried chicken. For more filling options, Yaowarat also offers dishes like seafood fried rice, aromatic Massaman pork cheek curry, and more. Don’t miss their Thai-inspired cocktails if you’re in the mood for a drink. Sip on the rum-based Kaffir Me for a tangy tipple, or go for the 108C for a Thai take on a Bloody Mary.

3. Path
Check out Path in Tsim Sha Tsui for modern interpretations of Chinese fare. Helmed by talented local chef Tony Mok, this intimate eight-seater restaurant combines classic Chinese dishes with innovative Western culinary techniques. This season, Path’s tasting menu includes delightful creations such as choux pastry filled with salted egg and comté cream, salt-cured mackerel topped with daikon salad, threadfin with housemade wide rice noodles and chilli-infused carrot sauce, and umami-packed crab dan dan noodles with a roasted cashew nut sauce.

4. Buffee
Cafe-slash-bakery Buffee is one of the newest additions to Wan Chai’s neighbourhood. This charming cafe, a collaboration with local bakery franchise LY Bakery, specialises in serving high-quality coffee and delectable baked goods. Buffee brews its coffees with single-origin Ethiopian Guji Uraga G1 coffee beans that impart flavours like tropical fruits and caramel, and they’ve also got traditional hand-whisked matcha beverages if you prefer tea. As for food offerings, customers can choose from over 20 pastries and baked goods from LY Bakery – we highly recommend the molten pistachio tart, curry beef puff, and the fluffy focaccia loaves.

Wan Chai’s widely popular takeaway shop Bánh Mì Nếm has expanded and opened a new location in the heart of Central. At the new shop, you’ll find their crowd-pleasing dặc biệt sarnies that come loaded with over 10 signature fillings, like housemade mayonnaise, paté, and chicken floss.
