Time to break those no-carb New Year’s resolutions! Former Four Seasons executive pastry chef Grégoire Michaud has just opened his long-awaited bakery-café. Located in Wan Chai, Bakehouse offers all sorts of oven-fresh treats, from naturally leavened sourdoughs to buttery, flakey croissants and other pastries. Dine-in options are also available in this sprawling, two-storey space. The menu is currently limited to soups and sandwiches but expect everything to be crafted with TLC and the best possible ingredients (we’re already eyeing the sandwich filled with grilled chicken, sriracha mayo and cabbage slaw).
Aside from its own homemade goodies, Bakehouse also sells products from local artisans such as Moonzen Brewery, Monde Chocolatier and Urban Coffee Roaster.
Bakehouse is currently open Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Dough yourself a favour and drop by for a loaf or two.
