With Hong Kong Arts Month underway, our city’s arts scene has been bustling with exciting happenings, from vibrant exhibitions to spellbinding theatre performances. In recognition of this month-long focus on the arts, H Queen’s – Hong Kong’s premier art destination – is offering an immersive creative experience throughout its complex this March. Visitors will be treated to an impressive lineup of exhibitions from international talents and exclusive arts-related food and drink events, all conveniently within the same building.

Start at David Zwirner on the building’s fifth and sixth floors to catch ‘Among my swan’, the first solo exhibition in Asia by Los Angeles-based artist Emma McIntyre. Be amazed by how McIntyre uses swans as elegant and mystical motifs, and how she incorporates accented patterns and unexpected materials as borders in her works. Just one floor above is New Art Est-Ouest Auctions, where visitors can immerse themselves in a remarkable array of Chinese paintings spanning from the late Qing dynasty to the 1980s. Keep your eyes peeled for over 150 Chinese paintings, highlighted by The Exquisite Private Collection of Tsuyoshi Inukai – Letters from the Ming Dynasty.

Drop into Whitestone Gallery on H Queen’s eighth floor to admire acclaimed Japanese artist Miwa Komatsu’s latest artworks in her solo exhibition, ‘Sacred Nexus’, that encourages viewers to tap into their sense of self-importance. Head up to Tang Contemporary Art on the building’s 10th floor to experience ‘Ritual, Trauma, and Allegory’ – a group exhibition featuring eight global artists. This thought-provoking collection encourages guests to explore works centered around healing wounds caused by civilisation, and connect with the art on an emotional level. On the 12th floor, contemporary art room Pace Gallery invites you to explore colourful sculptures, paintings, and prints by celebrated American graphic visual artist Robert Indiana (1928–2018).

This year, H Queen’s will also host the second edition of Supper Club on its ninth and 11th floors. This alternative art event aims to create an engaging space for discovery and connection; guests can admire a curated range of artworks and experimental performances from emerging international artists. Don’t forget to pop up to Saatchi Yates at H Queen’s 15th floor to catch the debut solo exhibition of Will St. John, a New York-based artist who combines classic realism with contemporary art styles to create uncanny yet captivating works.

After feasting your eyes on H Queen’s impressive lineup of artworks, heighten your experience by enjoying exclusive arts-inspired dishes and drinks at various restaurants within the building. Drop into two-Michelin-starred restaurant Arbor to try their menu inspired by abstract watercolour paintings by Xie Jing-lan (Lalan), or make your way to La Petite Maison for a creative cocktail and dessert pairing, inspired by the restaurant’s vibrant multicoloured artworks.

For an innovative culinary dining experience, TABLE by Sandy Keung is offering a time-limited menu for two consecutive months, inspired by the works of renowned artists featured in H Queen’s galleries. Don’t forget to swing by the restaurant on April 1 to savour a four-course dinner menu and acoustic guitar performances of original jazz scores by local guitarist Alan Kwan.

Continue your culinary journey and indulge in Gassan’s lavish lunch and dinner omakase menus while enjoying an exclusive 12 per cent discount throughout March. Alternatively, head to Aussie restaurant Omaroo Grill to try their newly launched cocktail that combines tea culture with Western traditions. Each dining experience at H Queen’s is sure to leave you satisfied and elevate your gallery-hopping adventure throughout the building.
