Coa's Jay Khan named Bartenders' Bartender 2020

One of Hong Kong's renowned mixologist recognised for his role in spreading the culture and flavours of Mexican spirits in the region

Just in time for bars reopening in Hong Kong, Oaxaca-inspired cocktail bar, Coa, will be celebrating the win of their co-founder and head mixologist Jay Khan, for being named Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award 2020 announced today by Asia's 50 Best Bars. Now on its third year, the bartender's award started in 2018 hailing its inaugural winner Vijay Mudaliar from Native bar in Singapore and Shingo Gokan from Speak Low, Shanghai in 2019. Voted by bartenders on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2020 list, the award recognises a personality who has made a significant impact in the bar industry and drinking scene in Asia. In 2019, Jay was also awarded Time Out Hong Kong's bartender of the year. Specialising in agave spirits like mezcal and tequila, Jay and his bar is proving to become one of Hong Kong institutions. 

The award is the last of a series of special awards announced ahead of Asia's 50 Best Bars' digital ceremony.
