#ClapforHK goes ahead in Hong Kong

City dwellers partake in a round of applause to say thank you to frontline workers

Earlier this evening, many Hongkongers came to their windows and balconies in a city-wide round of applause to show gratitude to the city's frontline workers. The clap was initiated by the Hong Kong Community Foundation in appreciation of all the medical practitioners, emergency service workers, carers, and others who have helped the city to continue during the recent, testing times. 

The applause went ahead as scheduled, at 8pm this evening on Friday, April 3. The foundation created a #ClapforHK tag in the run up to the event, and videos of the clapping in locations across the city have since posted on social media.
