As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced that it will be cancelling the live version of its awards ceremony this year, and will be changing it to a streamed online event instead. The award ceremony was scheduled to take place on March 24 in Japan's Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, to be accompanied by a series of other food-related events – including elaborate forums and the highly anticipated #50BestTalks – but now these too, will be reformatted.
The organisers are planning for a premium-level streamed awards ceremony for all interested parties, including chefs, F&B professionals, members of the media, business partners, and food lovers to participate online instead. Stay tuned for more information!
