If you missed out all the fanfare back in March with Art Basel and Art Central, this is your chance to dive into the world of art and finally make the plunge to take home your first artwork as Affordable Art Fair returns today and over the weekend at Hong Kong Convention Centre.
Essentially the cheaper and er, more affordable version of all the other annual art fairs, Affordable Art Fair showcases thousands of diverse artworks from traditional paintings and photography to cool graphic prints starting from $1,000 – that’s like change in the art world – and nothing over $100,000.
This year’s edition features great local and international representation with Hong Kong galleries participating, as well as special installations by artists like Sebastian Burdon – who’s presenting a piss-take version of Jeff Koons’ balloon animal dog – Loiix Fung, Antoinette Rozan and Cha Jaeyoung that will prove to be super Instagrammable. There’s also a creative hub for the little ones to get their hands dirty on an array of art activities.
Even if you’re not shopping for anything, there’s fantastic art to be found in every corner and new talents to discover.
