The Henderson Art Garden, a collaboration between Henderson Land and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, has officially opened to the public. Located next to The Henderson, taking over the space of the former Lambeth Walk Rest Garden, this outdoor oasis merges nature and art in one stunning space. Best of all? It’s free and open to all.

Designed by the world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), the Art Garden’s flowing curves mirror the unique architectural design of The Henderson. Inside the garden, visitors can discover a collection of nature-themed artworks from both international and local artists.

Highlights include Breathing Tree by American environmental artist Ned Kahn, a solar-powered zero-carbon kinetic sculpture which uses wind, water, and mist to bring nature’s energy to life; Hypnotic Dream, the first permanent light installation by German digital artist Philipp Frank, who transforms a tree into a glowing spectacle with abstract light projections and immersive soundscapes; and The Fractal Forest, a limited-time installation (on display until May 31, 2025) by local art collective Stickyline and Leanna Lee, made using fractal geometry, the ‘Golden Ratio’, as well as lighting effects and music.

International design studio Gillespies and topiary artist Darren Lerigo have also injected the garden with topiary art that echoes the fluid lines and curvature of The Henderson, while nectar-rich flowers are planted in the garden as a biodiversity-focused design to attract butterflies.
Whether you’re an art lover, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape in the city, The Henderson Art Garden is just a few steps away.
