Taking place as part of the JCCAC Handicraft Fair, Vincy Chan and Arthur Tam – the queer/gay duo that is TOW (Talented Office Workers, fka AV Kids) – perform alongside Lil Ashes and sister act Tse Chin-tung and Tse-Chin Lui.
Chan is a singer-songwriter who made their debut with On My Way produced by the Renaissance Foundation, an NGO started by singer and record producer Anthony Wong to support aspiring artists. Chan’s music takes in modern jazz, folk and millennial angst layered over lyrics that come alive with personal tales of stripping. Joining Chan is writer, swimwear designer and vocalist Tam. His voice can best be described as a blend of SpongeBob SquarePants and Pavarotti. Charmed by his fearless sense of fashion and unfiltered social commentary, Chan immediately knew the pair would work well together. By their powers combined, they are the Talented Office Workers – a named dreamed up by Swire marketing personnel that is, on the one hand, cringe-worthy, but which also perfectly embodies the farcical nature of Hong Kong’s white collar work culture.
